The Acer Aspire One Happy is a color version of the small computers that Acer has a habit of making. It is a mixture of new components and a combination of operating systems that the manufacturer had already tried in the past with its Aspire One D250: Android and Windows 7 Starter coexist in this machine.
Google Android associate (1.6) and Windows 7 Starter is not new in the case of Acer. In the past, the alliance worked quite well and we must recognize that magic always works. Google's mobile distribution system used here Quick Start (less than 10 seconds after the first startup) and is, by default, that starts first. Wait a few seconds, or click on a corner of the window to run Windows. However, it is possible to start directly with Windows 7.
Android is used to read emails, access to Facebook, listening to music or surf the Web quickly and efficiently. For everything else, you have to start Windows 7 and work with him. Pity that Acer did not include 2 GB of DDR3 memory. Since this is a netbook, must be content with only 1 GB. However, the Intel Atom N550 encouraged some things (total consumption of the platform support: 12.2 W). This small, dual-core processor, cadenced at 1.5 GHz is not very good for all that is calculated on a large scale, but the use of its integrated graphics chip can perfectly decode HD videos (720p), using the appropriate software and doing some optimizations in the drivers.
Whether at rest or in activity, this little machine is not silent or discreet (36.7 dB is the maximum recorded). However, none of the components overheat when running. There has been a maximum temperature of 33.8 ° C at the bottom of the netbook and 26.2 ° C in the palm rest.
